River International - Friday 1st July - River Agivey, Ireland
Despite two strong individual performances, Scotland couldn't get to grips with the Agivey and finished in fourth place at the International. Top rod for Scotland was John MacLennan (Earlston AA) who had two firsts, a second and a fourth place which put him in 6th place overall. Simon Cocker (D & B Flyfishing) also had a good day with a first, second, third and fourth to be 10th overall.
Wales had a narrow lead over Ireland after session 1 with England in third and Scotland fourth. The second session followed the same pattern and put paid to Scotland's chances. Ireland had an excellent session 3 and moved into the top spot and although Wales had a great session 4, Ireland held on for a narrow win over Wales. Scotland put in better performances in sessions 3 and 4 but the damage had been done early on and they remained in fourth place.
