The 2025 Scottish National River Championship
River Tay & River Tummel
The final of the 2025 Scottish National River Championship was held on Sunday 27th July on the Rivers Tay and Tummel. Fourteen competitors took part and over the four sessions they caught a total of 71 fish. The top six anglers make up the team for the 2026 International.
Top rod with 11 place points from 9 fish and 440.7 points was Scott Hamilton of Tweed Valley Tanglers. In 2nd with 13 place points from 9 fish and 438.4 points was Ian Jones of Lochgelly SRC. 3rd spot went to Ross McKean of Crown FF who had 18 place points from 11 fish and 500.7 points and 4th spot went to Scott Robertson of NCR with 18 from 7 fish and 348.3 points. 5th with 23 place points from 6 fish and 288 points was Ladislav Piljar from Tweed Valley Tanglers and 6th was Michael Low of Greys Menteith Ospreys with 29 place points from 6 fish and 307.3 points

Heat 2 on 1st June 2025
The second of the two heats of the River Championship was held on Sunday 1st June on the Rivers Tay and Tummel. Eleven competitors took part and the top eight qualified for the final.
Top rod was Scott Hamilton of Tweed Valley Tanglers with an impressive catch in all four sessions with a total of 26 fish and 7 place points. Dick Logan of Coldstream & District AA was second with 17 place points and Iain Lindsay of Strathgryfe AA was third with 20 place points.

The first of the two heats of the River Championship were held on Sunday 25th May on the Rivers Tay and Tummel. Eight competitors took part and the top six qualified for the final.
Top rod was Colin Macdonald of Saltire FF with a total of 11 place points. Ross McKean of Crown FF was second with 13 place points and Stevie Plank of Johnstone FF was third with 14 place points.
